problem installing realtek lan drivers


i have a realtek 8139c ethernet card on my system and am running RedHat9.
it didnt detect the card. i have to install drivers but couldnt do it. in the drivers zip file i found
1. 8139too.c
2. makefile
3. Raedme
i tried to understand form the "read me" what to do but i couldnt
can somebody help me by giving a step by step operation of what to do (even what to type at terminal prompt)
i dont even know how to compile a file or configure or make a file

hi there

realtek 8139 has inbuildt support in kernel and therer is the support for it in redhat 9.0 kernel configuartion
i have bn using it
u can have a look at the O/P here

post ur O/P of 'lspci' and see what driver xactly u r using
