problem in mounting /home when logging through NIS
 
I hav setup an NIS server by which user can login on any linux machine by a valid username and password.
but the problem i am facing is that a user can login at any machin but its home directory is not mounted...it displays an error -> No directory /home/<username> ! Logging in with home = " / " ... and then logs in with a bash prompt.
if anybody can tell me where i am wrong.... i tried to setup automount ( with auto.master) but it is not working.....may b im wrong somewhere.......please help me

local home paths must reflect that of the home path on the NIS server, that maybe the problem. Also the shell path must also reflect that of the NIS server also.
