This involves the configuration of the subnet. You are currently using 8 bits for the host address and 24 bits for the network address. You can use 9 bits for the host address and 23 bits for the network address. That will allow you 255 times 2 minus 2 addresses for the hosts. (255 x 2 -2 = 508).
The notation might be easier if you switch to using 16 bits for the network addresses and 16 bits for the host addresses. Then you won't need a subnet calculator to figure out the settings.
