PPPoA Problems with ITeX 1483 drivers!

i have a creative labs DSL modem with ITeX chipset.

i can load the module fine, (picks up modem, and returns the right stuff)

The problem is i want to connect it to the net via my isp.
i have no problems with Windows XP.

i have inserted the plugin to /usr/lib/pppd/plugins called pppoatm.so

and i have my pppd script with the following line:
plugin /usr/lib/pppd/plugin/pppoatm.so
0.100

when i try to connect i get:
undefined symbol: set_line_discipline_hook

is there a way to fix this? or to get my modem connected to my ISP/??

Thanks, stephen

i guess you've sorted it out by now, but for the rest of people on
hitting the same brick wall:

i got the same error when i use the pppd version installed by slackware
9.1 distribution on kernel 2.4.20

FIX:
download the pppd binary distributed by itex, it has some sort of modification in main.c, package is called
itexpppoa_for_2.4.16.tar.gz

if you want to read more, search for Kernel-2.4.16.tar.gz

i downloaded this package from
http://www.nzdsl.co.nz/software/other/Kernel-2.4.16.tar.gz

it contains all the info you need.

until now i've had no success. after running pppd, if LCP connection succeeds, my kernel crashes, i get oops screen. i've found no help on what could be wrong. somebody pointed out that it could be because of my AMD 1.2 Ghz system, so next thing i'll do is install and run the speedtouch pci modem on a Pentium 166, 32M RAM system, and see what happens.

and if that doesn't work, i'll reverse engineer the itex drivers !
god damn jim.williams@itexinc.com, for not releasing the source...
