ppp stops when ifup eth0


anyone can help me out, my ppp stops whenever i do "ifup eth0"
im using mandrake 9.0...

you can find the logs at /var/log

look in messages and dmesg for clues.

that is from /var/lov/messages.... uhmm.. from which exact file would i search?

also is it possible to update mandrake 9.0 to 9.1 using only disc 1?

tnx for the help guys, i have found the prob. gateway is set to 192.168.0.1 same as my IP number for eth0, and also set same IP for DNS server... tnx to all
