PPP hardcoded netmask?

We're having an interesting problem with our VPN configuration. We're using the 172.16.0.0/12 network for our internal machines, and as such we have services divided up among various subnets under that, such as 172.16.0.0 and so on.

However, there doesn't appear to be any way to set a netmask on the PPP connection. It only allows a /16 netmask. So, if we set the subnet for VPN to be 172.16, VPN users can only see 172.16 machines due to this hardcoded netmask.

Has anyone else run into this issue?
