ppp challenge-response authentication

Greetings brainy ones,

I am running RH9, and can connect to my ISP for surfing etc. OK.

I also need to be able to connect to the govt. network via dialup to telecommute a couple of days a week for work.
I normally do this with a Win2000 box and use an after-dial terminal. I am prompted with a request for a username, then a challenge no. comes up, which I enter into a cryptocard, then type the card response into the terminal window, then I am connected.

What would be the best way of achieving this with my Linux box? (I then hope to share the dialup with my win2000 box using wireless around the house). I have read a little about CHAP but don't know whether I am barking up the wrong tree,

thanks, Loz.

chap or pap will only give you a fixed password...
There is an option in the kppp gui which turns on the terminal window so you can see the challenge and give the response.
