postfix smtp client

i'm using postfix as my mail server and i'm relaying e-mail through my ISP's smtp. My ISP used to use AUTH PLAIN as the default method for login, but it seems that they changed that to AUTH LOGIN.

However, postfix is still trying to use the AUTH PLAIN to relay the mail. There's anyway to change that?
