Postfix SMTP and IMAP configuration

I'm using debian and I have apt-getted postfix and installed it. Now, I have confired it to the point were I can send and recieve mail from my domain to outside servers but ONLY from console. I cannot send or recieve mail using an outside client such as Outlook express. I know that I have to configure the SMTP settings in Postfix to be able to send mail with Outlook, but so far I have come up short. Every time I try to send mail I get a response 554 Relay Access Denied.

Now when I try to recieve mail using POP3 with Outlook Express, I get a No Socket Error. I think I have to install an IMAP server for this to work, and I've apt-getted courier-imapd but am having difficulties getting it to work, any suggestions would be much appreciated.
