portforwarding problem with enemy territory
hi folks,
i don't know whether to put this under games or network but i think its a more network issue, so i post it in here.
i live in a dormitory and have internet access via my university ... form time to time i'd like to play a round of enemy territory or quake but my university forbits upd communication to the outside (internet) so i had no chance to play these games.
but recently i managed to get a login to a computer in the university network which does have a working udp access to the outside.
i forwarded my games packages with (on the other computer)
"netcat -lp <some-port-i-connect-to> | netcat server.com 27465"
and at first everything seemed to work just fine ...
but than i got kicked out by punkbuster after 2 minutes for not authenticating to the punkbuster master server ...
i red some faqs an found out that punkbuster is using the very same port for auth'ing to the master server as the games does for playing (27465).
this means all my authentification packages are also forwarded to server.com 27465 ...
i have no idea how to handle this so i'm hoping for some good advice form u linux gurus Smile
best regards,
PoLL
