[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
hai,

Iam using the redhat9.0 as a gateway and firewall server using nat. In this system i have installed 2 NIC's one is configured with static ip for outside and the other is for LAN. My lan IP is 192.168.x.x and the static ip is 59.244.1.x. And i am using the mail server as cobalt qube3 server. in this cobalt i am using 2 nic's in this. I want to access my mails from outside. So i want to port forward the pop3 and smtp to 192.168.x.x that is what are the request comes from 59.244.1.x (pop3 & smtp) it should be forwarded to 192.168.x.x.

Please help me in configuring this.

Thanks.

Hopefully, this will be pretty easy. Here's what, from what I understand from your setup (Forward from one NIC to the other NIC), you need to do.

You need to open up ports 110 for POP3 and 25 for SMTP in your firewall. Next, you'll need to configure your gateway to forward port 110 and port 25 to 192.168.x.x, I assume you'll be using a statically assigned address for the device you forward these to.

Also, if I understand what you're saying correctly, you'll want to enable TCP/IP forwarding (There should be tutorials for this out there, I don't know how to myself.) so that it'll allow you access from outside the LAN.

I hope this will help get you started.
