Tried that, post scan still showing 110 closed.
Sendmail is up and running.
Is there a config to tell sendmail which port to use??

I don't think that is a iptables prob. sendmail simply isn't responding on that port...

sendmail doesn't work out of the box like a smpt server, you need to set it up with postfix... etc.. im sure you can telnet into the port and send an email through it

try restarting sendmail if you havent already. make sure all the directories have the correct permissions. if that doesn't work, check the sendmail log.

hi evryone,
im glad evrything worked out for u member57
well, but for information, would like to say that sendmail is a mta working on port 25.
for the port 110 its the connections job of a pop3 server.
u said u installed imap, mean udidnt have it and it just come that the pop3 server is with the imap server in the same package...
well now check about ur pop3,
it must be working now .....
i repeat sendmail just send ur mail or relay other servers...
