Point me in the right direction

I have a dream, it's an old Pentium II running Apache on a Gentoo installation. There's another PC attached to it by ethernet and I'm using SSH to write some Perl scripts on the server from this PC, sometimes I'll have booted into Windows and can still do this, and I can connect to the Internet through the server from my Linux/Windows box. Please help me live my dream (point me in the right direction).

Thank you.

Sorry about being vague, I wasn't sure where to start (software wise), but I found out what I needed - iptables for internet sharing and ssh just needs to be configured for the network. I have another problem though. I'm trying to set up the server for iptables, not even sure if this is the right route but I'm using net-setup (eth1). It gives the message "Type "ifconfig" to make sure interface is configured properly" (or something) even though eth1 is shown in ifconfig (after trying "ifconfig eth1 up"). Confused since net-setup also gives the error for any argument (eth1, eth0, lo, asdsjd) and eth0 is definitely working since I was just using it for the web (cable modem).

Thanks.

EDIT - just realised that net-setup is a gentoo thing and odd anyway, I just want internet sharing.
