Pinging on IP but not getting reply

Hi Linux Junta,

I found my live IP, which is assigned by ISP to my broadband modem.......After that I just changed one digit of its last number....I mean

If my IP is 59.76.223.123
than I wrote on address bar 59.76.223.124

and pressed Enter

But I didnt get reply........

What may the reason........

Is it so that the firewall on that IP is relucting new connection, thinking that I am intruder......???

Are you sure that the ip that you are trying to ping is alive?
It could be refusing ping replies but it may not be up as well.
Both of them could be reason why you are not getting reply from the ip.
