Lightbulb ping source code in linux

Hi,

i am new user so i really dont know is this the right forum to ask my question....????

i want to know where in the linux can i find the PING source code .....i want it inorder to complete my assignment which is to modify PING command in linux ...

i am quiet hopeful i will find some assistance in this regard

what distro are u using???

there is package called "iputils" which had the ping utility so u will find the code there as well
