Ping ip range to find live ip addresses?


is this possible, could help me alot, thanx

Certainly, just check the output of the ping command - 0=alive, 1=dead. Note that some hosts may block pings. You may also want to take a look at nmap.

nmap -sP 192.168.1.0/24

or

ping -b 192.168.1.255
