Question ping

Hello

Can anyone tell me how can I set a linux box (Red Hat)
to respond only to a number of pings for example 3 and drop the rest?

ping 192.168.1.34 -c3

the c switch means count

hmm you didin't understand my question...
I mean how can I configure the box to respond only to 3 pings from other ips ...like an anti ping flood...

PS I mean how to limit it to a certan number of pings per minute...
