Permissions problems with glftpd

How do I change what group a dir or a file belongs to when using ftp?

I accidentaly removed "NoGroup" which the dirs belonged to and now ppl can't even get in on my server... To illustrate:

drwxrwxrwx 2 1000 100 48 Aug 23 22:47 ftp1
drwxrwxrwx 4 1000 100 72 Aug 22 21:53 oldstuff
drwxrwxrwx 10 1000 100 280 Aug 22 21:27 storage

It used to say:

drwxrwxrwx 2 1000 100 NoGroup 48 Aug 23 22:47 ftp1
drwxrwxrwx 4 1000 100 NoGroup 72 Aug 22 21:53 oldstuff
drwxrwxrwx 10 1000 100 NoGroup 280 Aug 22 21:27 storage

Plz note that this is not about ordinary shell chown, this is using ftp.
Outside the ftp the perms look very different.
And oh, for ppl who feel compelled to say "RTFM, luser" or the likes, shut up, PLZ, I've already read it ten times and wouldn't ask if I hadn't run out of ideas...
