Perm Routes and Arp Statments.

I am looking for any and all information on making routes and arp statements permanent. I understand that the arp command automatically adds a permanent entry into unless otherwise specified. If my thinking is correct, then where is the actual file that contains this information.

Also, is /etc/sysconfig/static-routes where I should add any routes that I want to be permanent?

Is this formatting of this file the same as if I entered in the information from the shell?

e.g. route -add x.x.x.x blah x.x.x.x yada yada....

Thank you,

Yes ur correct about the file but no u dont put the actual command in the file but rather field values.

I dont know the excat format .... however if ur using RH then try putting in a permananet route by linuxconf utility and then check out the files contetnt.
