PDC and BDC in case of sendmail--------


hello sir,
We are trying to configure sendmail with high availability.We want to know how to configure PDC and BDC in case of sendmail.

Kindly spare some time to tell in detail.

thanks for response sir,
First of all I want to know whether it is possible to make PDC and BDC in sendmail.We know that we can make PDC and BDC in Exchange server in Windows.

Hi,

What exactly do you mean by PDC and BDC? I'm not familar with Exchange or sendmail. I use postfix for email myself, and I do know you can use heartbeat with two servers, where as one is active and one is standby, and the active one dies the standby one will take over. You should be able to do this with sendmail as well.

You can easily have a secondary MX that will queue mail while the primary is down. However, you would not be able to retrieve mail in that case. I'm confused as "PDC" and "BDC" don't have anything to do with Exchange itself...
