PCMCIA probs
hi folks,
here is my problem. i have a laptop with an onboard network card that is toast. instead of sending my laptop off to get the network card fixed, i bought a pcmcia card - which is a cheap CompUSA card. the problem is that all of the distributions i have tried insist on trying to use the onboard network card instead of the pcmcia card.
with redhat 9, i was able to tell it to ignore eth0 and just use the pcmcia card, but now i would like to use a different distro. i've tried suse, libranet, and mandrake. for each of these distros, i can ultimately get the pcmcia card to work by setting up both, and then deleting eth0. however, this only works during the current session and when i reboot, i have to set it up all over again.
does anyone have any suggestions on how i can set this up all of the time?
thanks, i appreciate any help people can give.
