I just installed Redhat 9 on a laptop and I'm trying to get my pc card nic to work (Netgear FA411). What happens if that if I put the card in it seem to recognize that its in, it begins the network configuration, but the term displays a line saying iptables , the year, and the developers, then the system does not respond to anything, even a ctrl alt del will not reboot the computer. Anyhelp or ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks
Kris
I also just noticed sometimes it gives me an error message eth0: missmatched read page pointers 1 vs 0.
Just an update of whats happening. I decided to try slackware so I installed that and my card is again detected, i also decided to configure my card for dhcp, when I insert the card at bootup it finds it then tries to configure the interface(eth0), it crashes while trying to contact the dhcp server looking for an ip. If i insert the card after the machine is bootedi hear the 2 beeps and nothing happens.
