I have a "Small" problem with a pcmcia network card.
It seems to be some kind of Ne-2000 clone card(NoName), Mandrake 8.0 finds it during install, but when i boot up after installing i won't respond. should there be a module in /lib/modles/pcmcia? (that is where the loadable modules are located (Right???)) when i do /etc/rc.d/init.d/pcmcia start it tells me that it cant find the file (The module) Torp |
being my current internet connection is based off of PCMCIA and slackware linux, I have compiled the pcmcia services several times trying to get things running. I currently have a wireless card installed, and it uses a driver module located in /lib/modules/2.2.16/pcmcia/ . I also used a regular ethernet ne2000 clone card, and it too used a module in the same place. Once the modules were loaded, it was like any other netcard in the system. So I would check and see first if the module exists under /lib/modules/2.2.whatever/pcmcia/ . If it doesnt , you may have to recompile your kernel, or grab the latest pcmcia package off the net (25 I believe), compile and install it.
