PclinuxOS 2007 looses the network connection info at shutdown of system

I can setup my network information in the PClinuxOS 2007 control center and it will work fine. The problem happens when I shut my system down. The setup info is not retained so I have to enter it again. What am I doing wrong? As my login name suggests I have a few years under my belt, but I am new to this Linux thing.

My years tend to hang OVER my belt, but that's another story....

What kind of network?
wired or wireless?
static IP or dhcp?
router?
cable, dsl, dialup?

Note that some configuration dialogs have little check boxes for telling the system to use this setting at startup.

I have a wired network, dhcp, dsl, and my router is a d-link EBR-2310

When I had ubuntu on this system it had no problem keeping the network info. I have not tried to change anything it is just the base setup as it comes of the CD.
