PC Linux 2009 BCM4311 802.11g

Long Story Short, Have a Compaq Presario F700 with a Broadcom BCM4311 802.11b/g integrated card. Laptop is dual boot with Windows Vista and PC Linux 2009. Wireless works with Vista, cannot figure out how to get it to work in Linux. I am also a newbie and don't understand what the readme file for broadcom's driver is telling me to do.

My experience with Linux is that of someone who knows it is an operating system and that is about all.

You can also use the b43 kernel driver.
Install the b43-fwcutter package with your package manager.
You need it to cut out the firmware the the b43 kernel module needs, from the broadcom driver.

You could instead try the driver from the broadcom site. It would be a lot more work, especially if you are new to linux and don't have the kernel source or gcc installed.
