path of mailbox in sendmail can be changed or not

we want to know whether the path of mailbox storage can be changed or not. right now mailboxes are storing in "/var/spool/mail/" , whether this path can be changed to some other path or not(e.g "/opt/spool/mail").
if possibility is there please send us some solution.

thanking in advance.

I THINK you can change that, but if not you might be able to use a symlink that points to "/var/spool/mail" instead...
