actually, you can try to shut down port first, then change speed.

Hi,

When I tested today everything worked fine, no more packet losses, even when transferring large amounts of data through the network, it runs at its specified limit, those servers which still run with 1GBit work as well without problems. There must have been something wrong with the hardware, what ever it was, the provider must have fixed it on its own.
