NTL Set Top Box & Slackware

Hi everyone...

Ive been looking for ages for any details on how to setup NTL's Broadband through the Set Top Box... So far, no luck.

I have followed all the instructions i can find in these forums, setting up my USB ports... I think (dmesg output below), I've tried all the info I can find for the Cable Modem setup for NTL... but that doesn't work, so I really need some specifics for the Set Top Box.

Anyone know where i can get a driver for the USB to Ethernet Adaptor? Or if I don't need one, anyone know what I do need to do?

--------
output from dmesg | grep -i usb

usb.c: registered new driver usbdevfs
usb.c: registered new driver hub

usbmouse.c: v1.6:USB HID Boot Protocol mouse driver
uhci.c: USB Universal Host Controller Interface driver v1.1

--------

Don't know if this is any help, but I really need to get this working.

BTW, I'm using Slackware 8.1.

TIA Jaymz.

what's any of this got to with with your STB? you can get the connection worknig on USB - search this site for "NTL USB" or something, but it's a lot of farting about for very little gain. just use a standard ethernet cable to conenct to an ethernet card, makes it all so damn easy.

I would use ethernet... but im using a system that im not allowed to install a NIC on... due to me using a Dual-Boot setup with Windows XP and Slackware.

Anyway... its not the set top box im having trouble with...

Because I've got the internet coming through it on Windoze, all setup fine... but i cant figure out how to get it working on Linux and what I need to do

I really need to get this working. I've followed all the steps I can find for setting it up using the Cable Modem through USB, but it seems to be different for Set Top Box with USB, as I need to find a driver for the Ethernet to USB Adaptor. Or at least find out how to get Linux to recognise it.
