Angry NTL & Mandrake 9.2.

I had a dual boot system, XP & Red Hat 9.0. Recently I thought I would give Mandrake a try but cannot access the Internet. I didn't have any problems after installing Red Hat, the internet was 'just there'. What do I have to do to connect to the internet under Mandrake. As stated above, I am on NTL Broadband. Cheers guys.

is mandrake on the same box you are using with XP / normal connection ?

NTL remembers the MAC address of the NIC card connected to the cable modem so that might be your problem?

If this is the case, how do I find out the Mac address of the NIC Card and can I set this to always identify it to NTL? Assume it should work then if I got your explanation correct?

it should 'just be there' I would have thought,. you need to be running DHCP on mandrake for it to get the IP addr from the cable modem,. don't know mandrake (or much about dhcp!)..

if you are dual booting the laptop XP/mandrake then the NIC or MAC isn't an issue since the MAC will be the same (since it's the same NIC) - sorry didn't explain too well.
