Novell Client for SUSE Linux

Has anyone been successful at loading a Novell Client on SUSE Linux 10.1?

I Have loaded SUSE Linux 10.1 on newworld IBook G3 and it works great. No issues as far as the OS is concerned. Very stable. My problem now is we use Novell Servers for our storage and distributed computing. Has anyone been successful at loading a Novel Client on SUSE 10.1? I have been working on this for 10 days and nothing seems to work or load correctly. (Maybe it is me, i am a real newbie wondering in the dark here)

Thank you,
Steve

I am not sure if the above is what you used, but I know it exists, but personally myself didn't have success with it, but on the other side of the coin I may have attempted using it for a total of an hour.

What I ended up doing was getting the ncpfs package and mounting them manually kinda like mounting a cdrom or a floppy. The parameters are different of course, but same idea.

hope that helps ya a little.

p.s. if that novell client above is what you've attempted to use, did you by chance read the first FAQ ;)

Yes. i have tried that... I have been trying to get a ncpfs package to work for 3 days now. I seem to be getting absolutely nowhere. I will just keep plugging away at it.

what seems to be the issue with ncpfs ? is it a problem with the parameters being use when trying to mount a volume ? or will it just simply not install ? same with novell client, did you end up getting it installed ? or was it a install issue ?
