not listening to an NIS server
 

i hace two pcs on a home metwork, both with FC4 both connected through a router to which inhtet connection is achieved.
when i rpcinfo-p medico.medico2000 in domanainname medico2000 and from medico1.medico2000 station. i get teh following message: rpcinfo: cant contact portmapper: RPC: Remote system error - No Route to host .
my /etc/export file is updated and in each computer teh /etc/hosts contain both ip address and hostnames.
can anyone help?
btw, when i boot, teh "listening to NIS server returns failed
