No KLIPS supportin kernel in SuSE 9.1

Short version: How do I enable KLIPS support in the kernel? What would the option be called? Thanks.

Long version:
I'm trying to get ipsec to work so I can work from home. So I have installed ipsec-tools and freeswan from SuSE's FTP server. However, running ipsec verify result in:
Code:

dyn-9-150-211-88:/usr/src/linux # ipsec verify
Checking your system to see if IPsec got installed and started correctly:
Version check and ipsec on-path                                        [OK]
Linux FreeS/WAN U2.04/K(no kernel code presently loaded)
Checking for KLIPS support in kernel                                    [FAILED]
Checking for RSA private key (/etc/ipsec.secrets)                      [OK]
Checking that pluto is running                                          [OK]
Two or more interfaces found, checking IP forwarding                    [FAILED]

Opportunistic Encryption DNS checks:
Looking for TXT in forward map: dyn-9-150-211-88                        [MISSING]
Does the machine have at least one non-private address?                [OK]
Looking for TXT in reverse map: 88.211.150.9.in-addr.arpa.              [MISSING]
yn-9-150-211-88:/usr/src/linux # uname -r
2.6.4-7.111-default
yn-9-150-211-88:/usr/src/linux # uname -r
2.6.4-7.111-default

After fighting for several hours, I finally managed to convince SuSE that installing the "#%#"¤%#" kernel source might be a good idea

But I can't find any option that might enable this. Could some kind soul tell what the relevant kernel option is called?

You need to patch the kernel-source with the code in a subdirectory on the S/Wan source

Thanks! just the answer I was looking for. Half the SuSE info said you need "some" patch, half said it was already included. Now I can now for sure :-D
