no-ip Linux client problem


I want to use noip2 (no-ip client)
after I installed the client software(make install)
The application try to make the configuration file
but the message apperaed:
Auto configuration for Linux client of no-ip.com

Can't gethostbyname for dynupdate.no-ip.com
Network must be operational to create configfile.
Ending!


My computer has connected to internet.
I don't how to do?

could be a firewall is blocking a port or something that the program needs.

iptables -L and see if there's anything in there what shouldn't

I think this problem is mentionned in the no-ip website. http://www.no-ip.com

problem solved

Hi,

try if:

host dynupdate.no-ip.com

works for you, probably not.

The cause is that your /etc/resolv.conf is malformed, so empty or has "search" line without any domain. I removed thi this line and now it works.
