no ip adress yet.... backgrounding???
 
My conection to the internet was working perfectly , suddenly something happened i dont know what and is not working anymore and i get this message... my configuration is good and my networking card has no problem cuz it works w my windows partition. Some expert please help me and consider i have nothing about Suse.

I think the message means it has put a DHCP find into the background looking on the network for a DHCPd server to give you an IP address.

Set your ip address temporarily with:

#ifconfig eth0 192.168.0.2

for example.

And perminently you'll have to find whereever SUSE keeps it's settings, perhaps by Yast or /etc/net? I don't know, haven't use SusE

If you have a broadband connection (cable modem/DSL), there's probably a problem with the ethernet connection to the computer, or the modem has been turned off.
