no internet connectivity fc4 on laptop

since upgrading to the 2.6.17 kernel this evening, I can't seem to access the internet on my Compaq evo n610c laptop. ifconfig eth0

shows that I'm pulling an IP from my router. first step is disabling SElinux.

any other ideas?

Is your routing table set up correctly? Look at netstat -rn and see if your router is set as the default gateway (the 0.0.0.0 route). Also, try pinging your router. If you're getting an IP address you should be able to ping it so long as it responds to ICMP echo requests.

Looks like disabling selinux worked. I've gotta look at what's in that policy that's blocking http.
