No internet connection in Ubuntu 7.10

I installed UBUNTU yesterday, and now it doesn't let me get into the internet.
My question is:
W-H-Y-?!

On windows my network works great!

I tried to reset my router and it didn't work.
ifconfig & lspic both work fine.
lspic contains the Ethernet Connection (it goes like: Bridge: NVIDIA ....... Ethernet Connection) and ifconfig contains eth0 and lo.
This makes the situation really weird.
Please help me, I'm exhausted.

Piece of the data is probably wrong because I typed the info by hand (with a pencil :O).

I got NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller.

Is the assigned eth0 IP address (10.0.0.1) appropriate for your network? Doesn't look like a valid class 3 address. Assuming that your router assigns dynamic IP addresses, I would try >dhcpcd eth0 and see if you get a good IP address >ifconfig eth0. Ping 127.0.01 and see if it works (internal loopback). THen try the newly assigned IP. FInally the IP address of the router.
