First off, are you able to ping sites by hostname or ip address? Try the following command and post the output:
Code:
$ ping -c 4 linuxquestions.org
$ ping -c 4 64.173.4.149
$ cat /etc/resolv.conf
as root
# ifconfig -a

What distribution / version are you running?
Did you configure the interface using DHCP or static IP address?

Look at the output of the following command. Does it show a valid IP address?
/sbin/ifconfig

Is this a dual boot PC?

I see that you have two interfaces. Which one is connected to your modem/internet?

You have to designate which interface will connect to the internet.

What does your routing table say? It could be possible that you dont have a properly configure route to the internet.

route -n displays the routing table for SuSE
