no browser


installed Fedora 10 with Mozilla-Firefox, I can get out on the internet by pinging outside IP's but Firefox browser returns cannot locate www.
does anyone know what package I need so browser connects.

Make sure you use the correct DNS server (from your provider)
put them in
/etc/resolv.conf
nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
or if you use networkmanager, wicd.... put the nameserver in there

DNS is dynamic, firewall is not problem because i can ping to internet and i can use a text browser, i must be missing some browser package

in the browser, go to options or preferences => networking => use no proxy

browser is configured correctly, all fields match to a different machine in which the browser works and also matches firewall config

ping 64.233.183.99
ping www.google.com
nslookup www.google.com

you are using the firefox 3 that came with fedora 10 , right?
have you ran

there is an update for ff3 , released last night.
firefox.i386 3.0.7-1.fc10
