NIS login problem for RH9 on Intel 915 machines

Hi,

We got some new computers for our lab which has the Intel 915 chipset.
After installing Redhat 9 on it, I find that strangely the lab users are no more able to login in to the server through the NIS login from the new machines.
I checked to see that the ypbind and the portmap services are running on client machines.

I am not too well versant with linux.
Could somebody please help me out with this?

Thanks
Brranj
