NIS & Samba Password Sync?

Is threre any way to keep NIS and Samba passwords in sync? I have it set up so that running "yppasswd" on the client successfully updates the NIS password, and running "smbpasswd -r servername" on the client successfully updates the samba password. How can I combine these steps and still keep the password in sync? Any ideas? Thanks!
