I am a newbie in linux. I have a couple of questions regarding NIS...Hope you could help me clarify certain issues...

1.) Is it ok to install NIS in a linux box also running Samba-PDC/NFS?
2.) I am able to install ypserv. But when i run /usr/lib/yp/ypinit -m..i get this error... No rule to make target `/etc/netgroup', needed by `netgroup'. Stop... When i checked for /etc/netgroup..the directory/file doesnt exists. Should i make this directory?
3.) How do i check if i have properly installed ypserv in my linux box?

Hope you can help me with my concerns regarding NIS. Any help would be appreciated....

If you can avoid NIS, do so. LDAP is a much better solution to everything.
