Exclamation NICs Lost

Hey All,

We installed RedHat 7.2 to a Compaq server running Four Xeon processors, 1gig of memory, one gig NIC and one 100Mbs NIC.

Everything seemed to be fine and we could ping out of both NICs (they are different subnets), until yesterday, we just started getting a "destination host unreachable" from the IP address assigned to the gig NIC, anytime we tried to ping anything.

We are currently trying to hit everything by IP, not trying to go through Host Names.

I have had someone tell me to "netstat -rn", because I probably don't have routes for the second NIC. However, if that's the case, then why would I have been able to ping machines on both subnets before?

Any and all info would be appreciated!

NICs Lost

SIddiqu.T ,

Thank you for your post, I will check it out, however, as a professed newbie, I am obligated to ask how exactly would I go about checking the modular for the card?

Would it be in /dev ?
