rh9, dell poweredge 1750, 2 built-in nics (broadcom tigon 3 according to rh), only one (eth0) connected.
eth0 is UP, shows RX/TX, no errors, etc ... correct def gateway and ip address and mask
also shows interface
lo, loopback addr, etc .... LOTs of RX/TX (30101), no errors.
I can PING my address, ping loopback addr, but cannot ping default gateway, or any device on this subnet, or anything else. Other devices cannot ping this address, either.
The switch shows a link. The nic link light is on
I looked in "service configuration app" and it showed iptables (despite that I had said "no firewall" during install) running, so I shut that down. Also showed ISDN (huh? Where would that have come from?) which I shut down.
In the network config tool it shows the nics, shows the correct ip info, dns info, etc ... but when I edit the hardware info, it does say "unknown" for IRQ. Is that possibly the problem?
