Nic

Hello,

I have an IBM netfinity 3000 with NIC onboard. I installed RedHat Linux 7.2 & the NIC worked fine.

Now I am trying to install RedHat Linux 7.3 on the machine afresh. The NIC configuration page never shows up. Again I try installing 7.2, the page appears but not for 7.3 installation. Kindly guide me.

Thanks & Regards,
Srinivasan.

well, take note of the driver used by your NIC under 7.2 and try to load it under 7.3:

/sbin/modprobe driver_name

chances are, the nic wasn't identified by the 7.3 anaconda installer.

if the driver loads fine, put it into /etc/modules.conf, say if the driver is eepro100, u need a line like this:

alias eth0 eepro100

and setup the network using netconfig.

btw, in most cases, e100 should be used over eepro100.

hth.
