Thanks for that, sorry to be such a royal pain in the ass.

Ive searched alot for this one, and tried many methods (inclduing editing the modules.conf which disalowed me IP allocation).

So i understand what hotplug is and what its use is (thanks :P) however, /usr/src/linux/ does not contain the .config file? The tree goes as deep as /usr/src/rpm/

Code:
root@james:/usr/src/rpm# ls -al
total 4
drwxr-xr-x 7 root root 168 2003-10-29 17:08 ./
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 72 2003-10-29 17:08 ../
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 48 2003-10-29 17:08 BUILD/
drwxr-xr-x 8 root root 192 2003-10-29 17:08 RPMS/
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 48 2003-10-29 17:08 SOURCES/
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 48 2003-10-29 17:08 SPECS/
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 48 2003-10-29 17:08 SRPMS/
What i have done is started hotplug via the konsole

/etc/rc.d/rc.hotplug start

Code:
root@james:/etc/rc.d# ./rc.hotplug status

As you can see, the sound is loaded (i think) and is also echoed by lsmod.

However, when i played a music file through Kaboodle i couldnt hear anything.

Also, just to be annoying and save making another thread, how do i enable the scroll on my mouse? I modified /etc/X11/xorg.conf with the following, but im still not scrolling

# Identifier and driver

Identifier "Mouse1"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"

How about that mouse? Does he scroll now? Looks okay to me, but after making that change you probably need to restart the mouse (or X) server, which you did by rebooting.

Not without asking a lot of questions. That's what I have for my wireless USB mouse (more than one), and they work. I'd say search first and if you don't find anything, start a new thread ... in the Slackware forum.
