NFS Services do not start at Boot up


Given Below is the description of error messages :
Starting NFS Quotas : Cannot register Service : RPC : Timed Out.
Starting NFS mountd: Cannot register Service : RPC : Timed Out.
Starting NFS daemon: portmap : server localhost not responsding, Timed Out
nfssvc : Input/Output Error.

Please Help me

Give more details how the network is configured, how have you configured the NFS server?

Our Machines are connected in a workgroup...and we have only 1 Linux MAchine in the workgroup.so, that means the NFS server and localhost are the same right..

Ok, are you connecting ms machines to the NFS share? How have you configured your "/etc/hosts"? If you can print the contents of the file please.

Hey,
I found out the solution to the problem.
iptables was creating the problem. I shut down the service and
lo !! NFS started working ..Now, i have to find a workaround to this problem of iptables creating a conflict with NFS.
