NFS problems

is there anyway to get NFS set up without flushing all the iptables? i saw some other posts on how to get file sharing set up, and i flushed all my rules, and the file sharing worked. however, that leaves me with no defense. is there a rule i could put in to allow file sharing through NFS?

This should explain how to allow NFS through your firewall:
http://www.lowth.com/LinWiz/nfs_help.html

It's fairly simple.. NFS uses about 6 or 7 different ports that you need to allow through your firewall for it to work correctly. But that guide in the link above would probably give you a much more detailed explanation than I could in this box here :)
