NFS not mounting on boot
Hi All,
I have two servers A and B. Both RHEL 3 AS patched to the same
A wants to map to a dir on B /u01/patch. A has a local dir /u01/nfs_patch to do this.
A and B can ping each others names and IP's:
ping serverb
ping serverb.domainname
ping ip_addr
Doing on A:
mount serverb:/u01/patch /u01/nfs_patch
Works a treat.
chkconfig is bringing up the NFS service on both on boot.
The hosts.allow file on B looks like this:
ALL:.domainname
The exports file on B looks like this:
/u01 *.vuw.ac.nz(rw,sync)
(Should this explicitly say /u01/patch??)
The fstab file on A which is trying to do the mount looks like this:
serverb:/u01/patch /u01/nfs_patch nfs defaults 0 0
I am getting a cannot connect to remote error. Not sure of the exact text I am afraid. Doing dmesg shows me:
nfs: server serverb not responding, still trying
nfs: server serverb OK
nfs: server serverb not responding, still trying
nfs: server serverb OK
nfs: server serverb not responding, still trying
nfs: server serverb OK
The firewall is disabled.
Any ideas?
Many Thanks!!
Colin
