NFS - Mounting Drive Problem
Hi everyone,
I have a server running Debian as a gateway and I use Red Hat on my laptop.
I have always used NFS without problem mounting the gateway drives and storing data on them however I have this new problem since throwing in a new Hard Drive.
i have a /pub dir on the server which is exported.
I can freely mount this from a client and retrieve any files from it.
However, if on the server I mount a hard drive in /pub and i try to mount the exact same dir on the client, I receive a 'Permission Denied' error.
If I mount the HDD in /pub/hdd, when on the client I can mount /pub but when I do 'cd hdd' I go in, but when I do a listing I receive no files.
A true mystery, can anyone help.
P.s. I have tried everywhere

Are you using a ext2 / resierfs etc.. drive, or are you just using a Fat32 drive?
NFS will refuse to network Fat32 drives, due to their inherently insecure structure. If you HAVE to share it, you can either do it over SaMBa, or there are a couple of source code hacks for NFS which will allow sharing, but at your own risk.

Its a EXT2 Drive. I have this problem with TWO ext2 drives I am trying to share, with no luck.
What other reasons can there be?
