NFS install to Gateway Solo 2500. CD-ROW broken!
see i had just messed up my system.
I was actually working pretty well, however i want to do a clean install to total delete the window stuff. but it ends up that linux can't read my partition window no more and i can't see nothing through fdisk in win98 boot disc.
so, what i want to do was to install my linux 9 from my deskjet pc to my old Gateway Solo 2500 as a file and printer server which have 20gb hard drive.
see i could use my PCMCIA Belkin 5020 card by adding
add following lines in this file: /etc/pcmcia/config
card "Belkin-5020"
version "Belkin" , "F5D5020-PCMCIA-Network-Card"
bind "pcnet_cs
then it will recognize it automatically.
now the only chance to get my gateway to run linux on it was to do a network install.
i could load pcmcia drive, then the pcmcia card's light comes on. but whenever i load pcnet_cs driver from my flopppy driver disc. it always say it can't find no cards. what parameter do i need to tell it?
my pcmcia was docked on my 1st pcmcia slot for sure, because before this i could use cardctl ident to see it was docked in 1st and which was NE2000 compatible.
anybody have any ideas?
